Neon Remote Module - Satellite
The Neon Remote Module is a small self-contained telemetry unit that connects to sensors in the field, collects readings from those sensors and transmits the data to a central server via satellite. You can collect the data from the server at your convenience or have it delivered direct to your PC via email or file transfer. The system allows users in the field to use Neon Remote Module to deliver data from loggers or water level and flow instruments etc. at various intervals, e.g. every few minutes, every hour, once a day etc to a web based system which allows the user to view logged data in near real time. A unique feature of the remote terminal is the inclusion of a SDI-12 universal instrument channel. This means that products such as the Hydrolab Quanta water quality sonde or the Vaisala WXT510 weather system can be connected by just two wires. The Module supports integrated logging or automated collection of data from an external logger. It also incorporates an LCD status display and operating buttons which help simplify the initial set-up process. The system allow users to set various alarm conditions such that any out of limits data will be noted and the user can be advised by email or SMS text message of the out of limits condition. The reporting can be set up to report via email or file transfer on a periodic basis to upstream analysis systems. THE NRM Satellite's built-in modem supports packet data, switchboard circuit data and SMS communications. Long battery life and low operating costs are made possible through the use of advanced microcontroller technology and an efficient protocol that takes advantage of Globalstar's packet transfer capability.
